Lukashenko gave himself to Belarusian women until the end
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko admitted that he would no longer run for president if “a person suddenly appears,” but he emphasized that he considers himself worthy to lead the state.
He stated this at a meeting with activists of the Belarusian Women's Union, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I understand what a president is for Belarus. Under what power do you women feel threatened? Maybe you worry too much that no one will protect us except him. No, there are enough strong people. But the problem is that we don’t see them. We see the reality that someone can protect. Believe me, this is a heavy burden.
I understand that a bird in the hand is better than a pie in the sky. Maybe there are people somewhere you can trust, but they have to come to the surface. You must see a person who can protect you and will not regret his life, no matter how pretentious it may sound. Sorry, I comply with this for now,” Lukashenko said.
He urged women not to believe that he stole something, because “you will bury your dollars under a tree, and tomorrow the Americans will show this point.” According to the Belarusian president, he was forced “to be as honest with society as possible.”
“But I will not last forever, and you will live under another president,” Lukashenko added.
