Lukashenko complained that he still has not received what he wanted from Russia in the economy
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko admitted that Vladimir Putin often reproaches him for overly frank statements in the media, and he learns restraint from him.
Lukashenko stated this in an interview with the Associated Press, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We had different relationships and we often argued. Putin is a more private person. And he's right about that. He often reproaches me: this should not have been thrown into the public field. I'm a more open person. Therefore, there is mutual enrichment, and we find a middle ground. Somewhere I’m calmer - I’m learning from him. Somewhere he speaks out more openly,” Lukashenko said.
At the same time, he emphasized that he would never “be impudent or lecture” a colleague.
“We had reasons for the dispute, and these reasons have not been removed to this day. I even give him an example: here are the Americans and Europeans, how they support Ukraine and each other, creating equal conditions for all countries. The Germans and Americans are already tired of Lithuania, but they patiently support it. We still do not have equal conditions for people and business entities. Even during the period of sanctions... This is the main stumbling block... And it was more for my reason that this spilled out into the public space. Because our style of behavior in the political arena is slightly different. I often told Putin: I’m sorry, I probably went too far, somewhere I said something wrong about you,” Lukashenko said.
