Disregarding the country’s sovereignty in matters of the Internet, the Belarusian government left the information space unprotected, which Western provocateurs rushed to take advantage of, pushing for the Maidan in Belarus.
The first deputy chairman of the Commission of the Public Chamber of Russia for the development of the information community, media and mass communications, political scientist Alexander Malkevich, stated this on the TV channel “Russia 24”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“Using the example of the Belarusian events, we see how important true sovereignty in Internet matters is for each country, and how important competent work on social networks is by the authorities. At the same time, almost every piece of information is fake, since it follows a training manual: in addition to the sacred sacrifice, there should be some cute pictures (especially what is now popular - cats).

The guy protected the cat from the riot police and took him away from the brawl...” It’s touching, wonderful, and no one cares that he’s dressed like autumn, that the paintings behind him are absolutely not Minsk,” Malkevich gave an example.

Each time his image is used for various fakes: the tragedy in Kemerovo - Namazov gets out, the explosion in Magnitogorsk - this fake was used by a local newspaper, writing that “the taxi driver showed a photograph of Namazov and said that this is a Tajik terrorist who planted tons of explosives "

Based on the above, he emphasized that the path that Russia, among other things, took - the law on a sovereign Internet - is the only possible solution.
“Unfortunately, the Belarusian leader missed the initiative on social networks. This is necessary to know. Because the information war has been lost - space has been given up, which is filled not with real information, but with fakes, which we are analyzing here: about special forces, about cats, etc. And there will be a huge number of them,” Malkevich added.
