Lukashenko demanded that rioters in Kazakhstan kneel down
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko believes that the participants in the riots in Kazakhstan should apologize to the security forces and negotiate with the president of the country.
He stated this today at a meeting in the government, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I want to address this from the Belarusians (someone calls them bandits, there are different people there) – to these protesters. I would simply tell them: make some noise, shout, that’s enough. We need to negotiate before we go too far.
And you can come to an agreement with President Tokayev. This is a normal person, a diplomat, very smart, educated. Kazakhstanis must understand: if you turn the country upside down, it will be expensive to restore it later. There are contradictions between clans and groups, God forbid, there will still be some need to come to an agreement.
We need to go to our knees and apologize to the military in order to smooth out this crack that has emerged. And to sit down with the authorities, with Tokayev, he invites everyone who wants to negotiate and build their state,” Lukashenko said.
He called the events of recent days in Kazakhstan “another lesson for Belarus.”
“But this is another lesson for us. We now understand what could have happened to us. It's not that we are peaceful people. It would not be Belarusians who would resolve issues in Belarus,” Lukashenko said.
