Lukashenko complained about Gazprom
According to the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, the Russian company Gazprom earns significantly more from supplying gas to Belarus than to Germany, despite the allied relations of the two states.
The head of the Belarusian state stated this at the first press conference after recent negotiations with Vladimir Putin in Sochi, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“You just need to have normal relations with us. If you and I have concluded an alliance, we should not assume that oil is cheaper or natural gas was sold to us. And the question arises: “Could you sell that much more for more?” Could not. And what is the profitability, for example, of gas supplies to Belarus, for Gazprom, and to Germany? Do you know, by the way? Do not know. It turns out that Gazprom earns significantly more from us than from Germany. There the price is higher, because it needs to be downloaded to Germany, but the main thing is not the price itself, but the profitability of this or that transaction of this or that product. So it’s up to us, despite the fact that our price is lower than in Germany, but the profitability is much higher,” noted the President of Belarus.
“Therefore, you just need to cooperate with us humanly and Belarus will never be separated from Russia. Never,” summed up Lukashenko.
