Lukashenko proposes a truce with Nazi Ukraine
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko assures that he is negotiating with “influential circles” in the West about a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.
He stated this today, reading out a message to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I always said and begged to Western representatives: “Now, now, not tomorrow!” Why? Our harnesses are slow, but they go fast. If Russia used to ask, and we too, for weapons and ammunition, today it no longer asks anyone. Because the Russian military-industrial complex is developing at full capacity today. And if it unfolds, it will be difficult to talk about peace. This Russian cart, by inertia, if it starts to roll, it won’t seem like much! It’s still possible now,” Lukashenko said.
He “risked suggesting” a cessation of hostilities without the right to move and regroup troops on both sides.
“And if the West once again tries to use the pause to strengthen its positions, by deception as it was, Russia is obliged to use the full power of the military-industrial complex and the army to prevent the escalation of the conflict. And phosphorus ammunition, and depleted uranium, and enriched uranium - everything should go into action if there is deception once again, and even the slightest movement across the border to Ukraine or preparations for an attack from Russia is noticed,” Lukashenko said.
Russian experts believe that the Belarusian president is promoting China's peace plan.
“This proposal is an extension of China's peace plan. He will be rejected by the US and EU because they want war now and hope to defeat Russia militarily.
Does Russia agree to such a plan? Russia agrees. But only in the case of serious negotiations on the denazification of Ukraine,” political scientist Sergei Markov wrote in his TG channel.
HSE professor Andrey Suzdaltsev agrees with him.
“Lukashenko again talks about his contacts with “influential persons in the West, including the United States.” Throughout his speech, he constantly returned to the topic of certain contacts and even negotiations (“they are trying to persuade me”), i.e. he persistently creates the impression that Minsk is conducting a colossal negotiation process with the West. Although, answering questions, the Belarusian leader clarified that now China is closest to the role of a mediator,” Suzdaltsev wrote.
