Lukashenko proposed holding the Olympics for three
Belarus could host the Summer Olympics together with Russia or Ukraine
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced this today in Brest.
“Of course, it’s difficult for us to compete with giants, but, let’s say, we can host the Olympics with Ukrainians or Russians,” Lukashenko said.
According to him, in Belarus the facilities for the Olympic Games are already ready.
“Now we will build a National Football Stadium for water sports, football will remain. In Russia, the entire infrastructure is created for football. We can easily host the Olympics with them. And here we mostly spend the summer – in Belarus – with the help of Russians or Ukrainians. They have facilities that we lack,” Lukashenko said.
This year Belarus hosted the second European Games.
