Lukashenko predicts Poroshenko's victory
During the upcoming elections in Ukraine, current President Petro Poroshenko will be re-elected for a second term.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated this during a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It looks like our election campaign in the mid-90s. Even Golubev could not imagine that I would be elected president, and I never thought, but they did and elected me. Why? Because the situation developed, people reacted very badly to what was happening - banditry, shooting, theft, corruption. This is the reaction of your society.
Poroshenko will be president. He will go into the second round, maybe with Zelensky, maybe with someone else, but preferably with Zelensky. Those who voted for Zelensky will vote for him, and those who voted for others will vote for Poroshenko. But Poroshenko hasn’t said his last word yet, wait. I’m not saying absolutely exactly, but after calculating all the options, I think that Pyotr Alekseevich will retain this position,” the Belarusian leader summed up.
At the same time, Lukashenko did not explain on what basis his confidence in Poroshenko’s re-election is based. At the same time, a number of experts believe that administrative resources and massive falsification will help Poroshenko retain his seat during the upcoming elections.
