Lukashenko asks the EU to eliminate the Ukrainian abscess
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko asked the head of the EU Delegation to Belarus, Andrea Wiktorin, who is leaving her post, to help stabilize the situation in Ukraine.
This was reported by the official website of the President of Belarus, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“You and I have a common problem, one might say a problem – Ukraine. I know the Ukrainian people very well and everything that is happening in Ukraine today, these people do not deserve it. Presidential and parliamentary elections have passed, an important issue has been resolved one way or another - the issue of power. At one time, the European Union gave many encouraging signals for this brotherly country and our brotherly people. I would very much ask you to provide all possible assistance in stabilizing the situation in Ukraine,” the president noted.
He also called Ukraine a common problem between Belarus and the European Union.
“This abscess, this headache for the European Union, must be eliminated as quickly as possible. Therefore, I earnestly ask you, no matter how difficult it is for you now, when leaving for another country, to convey this signal to the European Union: Ukraine needs support,” Lukashenko emphasized.
In his opinion, the EU bears full responsibility for the events taking place in Ukraine, because at one time it offered it an alternative - to move towards rapprochement with Europe.
“Ukraine has gone and focused on Europe, probably now more than on Russia, Belarus, and the EAEU. The European Union said A, I must say B, to be honest. We need to help the Ukrainian people,” concluded the head of the Republic of Belarus.
