Lukashenko publicly reprimanded his press secretary for Gordon
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko reproaches Russia for not telling him not to give an interview to Ukrainian propagandist Dmitry Gordon on the eve of the presidential elections in 2020, when Old Man was actively playing “multi-vector” and accused Moscow of trying to encroach on Belarusian independence.
“This is a bastard, but you knew better. What didn’t you tell me?” – Lukashenko said in an interview with Vladimir Solovyov.
Soloviev objected that he constantly exposed Gordon on his broadcasts. Then Lukashenko switched to his press secretary Natalya Eismont.
“Do you understand who Gordon is? Whom you brought here, and now I’m listening to various comments,” Lukashenko said.
Then he turned to Solovyov again: “Here you are right. We need to know who the president is talking to.”
However, later during the conversation, Lukashenko said that he trusts Eismont, which is why she provides him with the most complete information.
“If she had told me a lie even once, she wouldn’t be here instantly. Flattering is prohibited. This is a feature of the Belarusian president. She recently told me about Solovyov. This is her opinion. You got her hooked. She comes to me with tears. I told her: go and deal with your Solovyov. You are not right. You promised him, you had to fulfill it,” Lukashenko said.
He was referring to the situation in November last year, when Eismont organized a series of interviews with Old Man to Western media, while stating that Soloviev and Kiselev were waiting for their turn. Soloviev then sharply criticized Eismont on his broadcast.
