Lukashenko revealed a military secret
The Russian-Belarusian military exercises “Union Resolve 2022” are held in February so as not to interfere with the sowing campaign in Belarus.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced this today at a meeting in Minsk with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“You and I, among other things, agreed that we would choose a time to conduct these exercises so as not to interfere with the national economy and agriculture. And we will conduct major exercises in the south of Belarus. We discussed this topic with the president twice. We were constantly improving our plans. We have very little time left to redeploy troops from the Russian Federation. We have absolutely no problems here. Everything that was planned on our part was actually implemented. I think that somewhere on the 10th we will begin the active phase of these events,” Lukashenko said.
According to him, Belarus intends to purchase Russian military equipment, which will be used in the exercises.
“Everyone has noticed that we are redeploying a lot of equipment from Russia to Belarus, including modern equipment. As we agreed with both you and the President of Russia, it is very important for us that our military people not only see this equipment in the picture, but also, as they say, touch it. So that together with the Russians, our brothers, we learn how to use this technology. This is very important for us, because we plan to purchase almost all the equipment that will be here from you this year, next year, and so on. This is very important for us. And not only for us. This is critically important for our Union State today in connection with the behavior of both NATO and Ukraine, which is striving to get there. That’s why we want to learn,” Lukashenko said.
