Lukashenko ordered to clean out traitors in clinics
Many heads of institutions in Minsk take an anti-state position.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced this today at a meeting on countering sanctions, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Solidity and diligence are needed more than ever. Deal with managers especially. We have too many leaders who take an anti-state position. And what surprises me (this is most of all in Minsk) is the heads of healthcare institutions. There are too many smart people there who are ready to work for the prime minister, for the head of the administration, for the leaders of parliament - they are ready to work for everyone,” Lukashenko said.
He suggested that disloyal leaders emigrate.
“Nobody forbids anyone to have their own point of view. You have it. I take this for granted. But we are all limited by certain limits - the limits of a leader. If you want to be absolutely independent and call for sanctions, fight against the authorities, etc., they are sitting in Lithuania and Poland. There are still vacancies there. More and more people want to go back from there. Please go there and call for sanctions there. We won’t get you there, and you won’t get 6-8 years under the new law. But if you lead a team, you are government people, especially if you wear shoulder straps or work in the government apparatus, you understand where you are. Otherwise, we will regard this as a betrayal,” Lukashenko said.
He promised that he would not allow foreign NGOs and funds, which had multiplied during his previous term with the connivance of the authorities, to operate in Belarus.
“You cannot forgive traitors. There will be no forgiveness for those who tried to turn the country over and hand it over there. We see and identify them in dozens, or even hundreds. We liquidated all those organizations that were financed from abroad and organized a coup and rebellion. And today they howled: restore it back. They will never be restored. Any foundations, any organizations can exist here, but do specific work for the benefit of the homeland. This chaos must end today,” Lukashenko said.
