Lukashenko decided to keep silent about the Union State
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has received the current problems and is paying for the fact that he himself “wobbled” for years on the issue of integration with Russia and nurtured nationalist youth who today oppose him.
Chairman of the Belarusian Republican Party of Labor and Justice Elvira Mirsalimova stated this on the air of the “Postscriptum” program.
“What a paradox - after all, the youth who are now coming out with white-red-white flags were raised entirely in Lukashenko’s system. It is important to say here that all these years pro-Western NGOs have been working in Belarus, raising these girls, I am a witness of how this is happening. These are supposedly non-political NGOs, they conduct seminars and trainings on any topic - healthy lifestyle, AIDS, ecology, gender studies, etc.
But in the end, at the end of the day, all these girls understand that Russia is the aggressor, that they must repent for the victory in the Great Patriotic War, that the Belarusian language should remain the only state language. And this is how they are formatted, and at convenient times I see these girls at rallies. Although they say: “We are outside politics,” Mirsalimova said.
The Belarusian politician also emphasized that Lukashenko is to blame for constantly delaying the recognition of complete dependence on Russia, and kept silent about integration during his inauguration speech.
“Why did the older generation support Lukashenko? Because he promised a real Union State, integration with Russia. But we see that none of this has happened yet. Neither the election speech, as they say now, nor the inauguration speech, not a word was said about the Union State, not a word. And people chose precisely because of this, because they had hopes.
We understand that our economy is tied to Russia, we are civilizationally and politically one people,” Mirsalimova said
