Lukashenko: Russia barely managed to dodge a crushing blow
In the modern history of Belarus and Russia there have never been “such dangerous and difficult moments in relations with the West.”
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced this today at a joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Amur region, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“When discussing today the problem that everyone is talking about, I especially emphasized this in a conversation with the President of Russia. And this statement of mine was not made out of nowhere. If only Russia had been even a little late with the military operation, they were preparing to deliver what they believed would be a crushing blow to neighboring regions on Russian territory.
Today we have clearly seen that this is possible. Therefore, if someone is itching and shouts that they got into the wrong place, started at the wrong time or in the wrong place, then put this hubbub on the scales and what could have been received if they were at least half a month or a month late,” Lukashenko noted .
He believes that the West has long been hatching plans to attack Russia.
“They didn’t destroy us then, they decided to try now... the most acute, dangerous situation in which Belarus and Russia find themselves now did not arise out of nowhere, on its own. Both Washington and Brussels have been systematically moving toward just such a conclusion for years. Today it is absolutely clear that a collision, alas, could not be avoided. It was simply a matter of time and place with aggravating consequences if they were late,” Lukashenko said.
He expressed confidence in the joint victory of Russia and Belarus over the collective West.
