Lukashenko: Russians envy us, but there is no negativity from our Ukrainian brothers
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that Russians are jealous of the fact that Minsk will host a parade on May 9, but there is no negativity from the “brother Ukrainians.”
The Belarusian president told reporters about this today during a visit to the training ground of the Academy of Sciences, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The journalist who addressed the president argued that the Belarusian people “received the decision to hold the parade with enthusiasm,” but “on the outer contour of our comrade brothers” he saw a negative.
“Which brothers do you mean? I haven’t heard anything negative from my Ukrainian brothers. As for our eastern brothers, it was not for nothing that you linked this with the May 9 parade. I think it probably has something to do with it primarily. Well, if there is some kind of envy, rejection, then it’s a complete lie,” Lukashenko snapped.
Belarus is the only country that is holding a parade on May 9 this year. Russia and China canceled the participation of their battalions in this event.
