Lukashenko: It seems that the tension with Russia is crazy
Having allowed himself a number of unfriendly statements towards Russia, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko immediately assured that he would not have any problems in negotiations with Moscow.
“It’s easier for me to negotiate with Russia because we are one people, we speak the same language, we think alike. I always felt more comfortable with Russians; we are friends. Of course, we are different countries, we probably already have some of our own goals and objectives. Russia is a big country, we have maybe smaller ones, but that’s also enough,” Lukashenko is quoted as saying by his official website.
According to Lukashenko, tension in relations is just an appearance.
“Because we have a huge number of these issues, and there are a lot of issues that should have been resolved a long time ago, but we have not resolved. Since there are many of them, it seems that our tensions with Russia are crazy. But this tension is characteristic only of fraternal and friendly countries,” Lukashenko said.
