Lukashenko managed to insult the Parade in Moscow and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation
The passage of the Belarusian military through Red Square became a mockery of the Victory Parade.
Reserve Colonel Vladimir Trukhan, a member of the working group on the creation of a Russian regional grouping of troops (forces) in Belarus, stated this in an interview with the PolitWera YouTube channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I have been in the army since 87, but I will never forget such a mockery of the parade on Red Square. Let's start with the fact that the Chinese delegation was headed by a major general, the rest of the delegations were senior officers. The Moldavian one was led by a captain, but the Moldavian armed forces went through everything.
And Belarus was headed by a senior lieutenant. This is already the bottom. These nuances will not tell a civilian anything, but will tell the military a lot, because there is such a thing as a sufficient level of representation. Couldn’t they find a lieutenant colonel with good combat bearing?” Trukhan said.
In addition, the military in both Russia and Belarus were shocked that the Belarusian military marched in open formation at double intervals, violating the drill regulations. A military expert suggested that this is due to the massive coronavirus disease.
“Another explanation would definitely be perceived as an insult to the parade. This is a military-diplomatic demarche - to send a senior leader and an open system to Red Square. This will not be forgotten for a very long time,” concluded Trukhan.
