“Lukashenko stated that he was very concerned about what was happening near the borders of his country, especially from Poland and Lithuania, and that Russia was ready to provide military assistance to Belarus. Thus, Lukashenko’s dependence on Putin has been restored, albeit declaratively. This was confirmed by the fact that the Wagnerites were released.

He essentially swore an oath to Putin that he would not surrender the country and would fight to the end, as he stated yesterday in the square. He also said that he would not leave the presidency and under no circumstances would he negotiate with the opposition, because there is none.

He said that these are a handful of people with whom he will not negotiate. Lukashenko does not care that he has no real support from the people. He received guarantees. And he simply will not leave his post. Let people come out. And the opposition will not take forceful measures, including erecting tents.

It is clear that in this case a civil war will begin. Therefore, there will be no tents, no meetings, nothing like there was on the Maidan in Kyiv. Any transition to violence on either side will mean civil war and the entry of Russian troops.

The tent model has exhausted itself. The conflict will grow, there will be another mechanism - strikes. Lukashenko will gradually lose his position, the country will simply collapse,” the expert believes.
