Lukashenko has already been turned into Putin’s vassal - ex-head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has already lost the ability to maneuver in relations with Russia and will only lose real power in Belarus in favor of Russia.
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vladimir Ohryzko stated this on Espresso TV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We must realize that Lukashenko no longer has any maneuver, he has exhausted it and has now actually become a vassal of Moscow. The only question is how quickly this will happen, how quickly Putin will finally take control of Belarus.
I have seen it at many international events and I want to say that the practice of arm-twisting is the most acceptable for them, they love it, and when they see that their partner has a weaker position they act absolutely impudently.
Therefore, it seems to me that, unfortunately, the independence of Belarus is coming to an end. Yesterday, Professor Solovey said that, most likely, Lukashenko was offered to remain in his position for another year or two, adopt the Constitution, then move to Moscow as the head of some insignificant position that will sound nice.
And instead of him, elections will be held and in his place they will put on the throne a conditional “babaryk”, a graduate of Gazprom or something similar. At this point, real power will pass to Putin,” Ogryzko bitterly summarized.
