Lukashenko returned all captured Russian “Wagnerites” to their homeland
32 Russians wrongfully detained by Belarusian security forces at the end of July have returned to Russia.
The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation reports this on its official website, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In accordance with the petition of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, Krasnov I.V. dated 05.08.2020/22.01.1993/XNUMX in the manner prescribed by the Minsk Convention on legal assistance and legal relations in civil, family and criminal cases dated XNUMX/XNUMX/XNUMX, thirty-two citizens of the Russian Federation who were previously detained on the territory of Belarus crossed the State Border of the Russian Federation and are currently time are on the territory of Russia. The thirty-third citizen of Russia, who also has Belarusian citizenship, remained on the territory of the Republic of Belarus,” the message says.
It is emphasized that the transfer of Russian citizens was carried out in strict accordance with the norms of international law and national legislation of the Russian Federation and Belarus, in close cooperation between the prosecutor's offices of both countries.
“32 guys detained in Belarus have been released and are returning to Russia. This is very good news,” political scientist Alexei Dzermant, close to the Belarusian president, wrote in his telegram channel.
Let us remind you that 32 employees of a private security company, who were late for the plane, were detained in a sanatorium near Minsk.
The Belarusian authorities called all of them members of the private military company Wagner and accused them of intending to destabilize the situation. Later it turned out that all this was a planned provocation by the SBU. However, the Belarusian authorities themselves did not say anything about the Ukrainian provocation.
“This is very good news. But the release does not remove the question of the depth of the allied relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus,” Russian military correspondent Evgeniy Poddubny commented on the news in his Telegram channel.
