Lukashenko blames the conflict in Donbass on the confrontation between the West and Russia
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko called the conflict in Donbass a consequence of the clash between the Russian Federation and the West, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the local Belta agency.
“The main threat, as I see it, is the clash of interests of large states... A clash between Russia and the West, Russia and the United States,” said the leader of Belarus.
He emphasized that such clashes have their manifestations, in particular, in the situation in Donbass and Syria. Lukashenko added that in Syria, in particular, the interests of major powers collided.
“Sometimes Russia, especially Iran and the United States, stand head-on in positions (in Syria - ed.). It’s exactly the same in Ukraine. It seems to me that there might have been peace there if others were not interested in this confrontation,” summed up the President of Belarus.
