Lukashenko: Military developments of Russia and Belarus will sober up any aggressor
Belarus intends to strengthen cooperation with Russia in the production of the latest types of weapons.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced this today at a meeting on the development of microelectronics, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our developments can surprise and, most importantly, sober up people who harbor aggressive plans against Belarus and Russia, the Union State as a whole,” the president emphasized.
At the same time, he noted that even in the field of the military-industrial complex the allies’ dependence on the West remains.
“However, even in the defense sector we are still dependent on imported components. Especially those that we will never produce in Belarus due to the fact that we simply need them individually. And creating huge factories for billions of dollars to equip yourself is simply unprofitable.
We will never pay for such a plant. Therefore, it is still a global direction - everyone depends on each other. In the current conditions, where possible, we must move away from Western dependence,” Lukashenko said.
He urged not to give up cooperation with the West.
“But we cannot isolate ourselves within national borders. This will not give the desired effect. We must cooperate not only where we are expected with open arms, for example, in Russia, but also where we are not expected. We must cooperate with both the Americans and the Japanese, if only in order to see the highest level to which we strive,” the Belarusian leader believes.
According to him, the concept of creating an export-oriented and import-substituting electronic component base has already been created. Russia will finance this work.
“The work must be carried out, of course, in close cooperation with Russia. We do not hide our interest in this regard, because it is possible to implement all the developments that we have (scientific, development elements) only thanks to timely financing. Russia is ready to finance us in this regard,” Lukashenko said.
As the president noted, Belarusian development enterprises offer a comprehensive solution with a high saturation of microelectronic components in the field of space optics, radiography, and non-destructive testing of the Earth’s atmosphere.
The Belarusian fundamental school of optical and laser physics is traditionally strong. Belarusian radio-electronic systems for various purposes are capable of precise target designation against any “even the most publicized” means of attack in any weather and at any altitude. Belarus is among the world leaders in electronic warfare. Much has been done in the production of Belarusian “smart” unmanned vehicles.
