Lukashenko chose a new partner
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko opened the traditional New Year's ball at the Palace of Independence yesterday, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I absolutely believe in you. Yes, we are going through difficult times. Yes, sometimes young and hotheads are at the forefront of events. It has always been this way. But I am convinced that sooner or later all our children will hear not the calls of foreign telegram channels, but the voice of reason. And they will say thank you to those people who are fighting today on the front line for the future,” Lukashenko said.
When the waltz was announced, the president found himself paired with a young girl. As the nationalist publication Nasha Niva found out, this is Olga Petrovich, a 3rd year student at the Technical University. She claims that she invited Lukashenko herself.
“I myself invited Lukashenko to dance. He didn’t refuse - he dances well. They danced a waltz, talked about the ball, what a solemn atmosphere, what dancers and how great they look and try,” Petrovich said.
The girl believes that she was invited to the ball because she participated in the Miss Belarus competition this year. It is known that the Belarusian president is surrounded by many beauty contest participants.
In 2003, he invited “Miss Russia” and “Miss Europe” Svetlana Koroleva to Minsk. Lukashenko invited her to stay in the country and work as director of a utility company, but the girl refused.
And the finalist of the 2008 competition, Polina Shuba, agreed to work in the protocol service and often later appeared in the company of the president at public events.
The winner of the 2013 beauty contest, Daria Shmanay, regularly appeared surrounded by Lukashenko.
In 2015, she attended his inauguration, surrounded by members of his family, and then worked in the protocol service. In April, she purchased an apartment in the elite Olympic Park residential complex next to Lukashenko’s press secretary Natalya Eismont.
In 2018, the president danced at a ball with the winner of the national beauty contest, Maria Vasilevich, whose career then skyrocketed.
Lukashenko regularly appeared with Vasilevich and his beloved youngest son Nikolai at all significant social events. Lukashenko's press secretary Natalya Eismont said that the country's leader personally prepared the girl to participate in the Miss World competition (where Vasilevich won the Miss Europe title) and even taught her how to chop wood. Lukashenko awarded her the Prize “For Spiritual Revival” - “for her significant contribution to the development of international cultural cooperation and active charitable activities.”
The matter did not stop there. Maria began hosting a popular program on state television, and then became a deputy in the country's parliament. Vasilevich’s most striking initiative in her new capacity was the proposal to amend the legislation, according to which it would be possible to deprive Belarusian citizenship for terrorism, extremism and “causing grave harm to the interests of Belarus.” In retaliation, Belarusian oppositionists achieved the deletion of Maria’s Instagram account.
It is noteworthy that Lukashenko’s ballroom activity is supported in Russia.
“I deeply respect Lukashenko and envy the Belarusians - a real man is in power! It is immediately clear that traditional values are under reliable protection. Will this beautiful girl give a new heir to a strong leader?;) The Left Front is preparing a congratulatory event for Alexander Grigoryevich with the slogan “We want a dad!”, details later,” the wife of the Left Front leader Anastasia Udaltsova wrote in Telegram.
