Lukashenko spoke about his son's presidential future
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has denied rumors that he is preparing to transfer power to his son.
“As they actively write on the Internet today: “Lukashenko, the transit of power, who will be in power”... They are starting to sort out the children.
So listen, don’t touch any children. “No children of mine are preparing for any transit of power,” Lukashenko snapped.
As PolitNavigator reported, back in 2016, the “dad’s” ill-wishers started talking about how he wanted to change the constitution so that the country’s parliament could elect his eldest son, Victor, as the new president.
However, the younger Lukashenko was appointed vice-president, but only of the National Olympic Committee.
At the same time, the President of Belarus today gave grounds to consider another rumor discussed on the Internet as real, that he plans to change the Prime Minister - to remove Sergei Rumas and install Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei, who is considered a pro-American politician.
“I’m answering this question for you publicly: the one who works today and fulfills forecasts and plans, brings benefits to the country, will work, naturally. I don’t have a policy of being particularly close or distant. If Rumas and Kochanova, deputy prime ministers and ministers do not hear me, then you better pack your briefcases and leave immediately,” Lukashenko warned.
Thank you!
