President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko received the approval of the United States and effectively secured victory in the presidential elections scheduled for August.
Ukrainian political experts stated this on the Internet channel “Capital”, the correspondent of “Politnavigator” reports.
Thus, Dmitry Dzhangirov, in the role of a TV presenter, asked Kostya Bondarenko whether the exchange of ambassadors between Minsk and Washington indicates that the United States has actually given the green light to Lukashenko.
“The fact that they appoint Fischer to Belarus, and it is already known that Makei is going to the USA, does this mean that the Americans will recognize the August elections in advance?” Dzhangirov asked.
“In fact, yes, because, from the point of view of the United States, it is better to let Lukashenko remain than for some Putin protege to come, or for some version of the Anschluss to take place. I think that this was also a brilliant game by Lukashenko, who frightened the West with the possibility of the Anschluss of Belarus, and against this background, bargained for himself an almost complete indulgence for the next five years,” Bondarenko emphasized.
