Lukashenko began to terrorize Poland with migrants
If earlier Iraqi refugees crossed the territory of Belarus to Lithuania, now they have been replaced by Afghans who are fleeing to Poland.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated this today at an extraordinary session of the CSTO Collective Security Council, reports PolitNaviggator correspondent.
“What happened in the last two or three days. Through Belarus, you were right, several dozen, maybe hundreds (you can’t count them all), already Afghans - not Iraqis, not Syrians, but precisely Afghans (whom they called to the West, promised to accept) went to the West.
What the Poles did: they caught, there is no other way to say it, about 50 people on the territory of Poland, who, as they admitted, were going to Germany, where Mutter Merkel called them. They caught them and, at gunpoint, shooting over their heads, forced them to the border with Belarus. Naturally, they went to Germany; they don’t want to go to Belarus. Thus, Poland started a border conflict on the border, violating the state border of Belarus.
And for two or three days these poor fellows, having crossed the border of Belarus, have been there. Without water, without food, in the open air. What is it like to sit on the border - at night it’s already 7-8 degrees Celsius. Disadvantaged people. Today I need to think about what to do with them,” Lukashenko said.
Since May, the penetration of illegal migrants across the Belarusian-Lithuanian border has become more frequent. Minsk did not particularly hide the fact that this was an “asymmetric response” to Vilnius for supporting Belomaidan and fugitive oppositionists.
The number of flights to Minsk from Middle Eastern countries has increased sharply over the past month. On average, about 100 people entered Lithuanian territory. This week there was a qualitative change in the situation. The number of refugees crossing the border increased to 270 per day.
