Lukashenko will suppress protests and win elections - ex-head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko will be able to stay in power by using repressive methods to suppress discontent.
The former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine Nikolai Malomuzh stated this on air on the Politeka Online channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Then the tough question will arise - democracy will lead to the collapse of Belarus. Therefore, at the moment he will continue his line, and he will emerge victorious in the elections. And those forces that are controlled by him will, of course, withdraw, and those that really claim to change the system will be subject to repression.
I think this process will continue for several years, especially since external factors - the coronavirus, the economic crisis, global processes that are ongoing, protests that could spread to Belarus, they will force him to keep society under control through the force model.
And a powerful information model will be provided to Belarusians - we need to survive, we are one island, we are a stable country and will not allow any interference from external forces,” argues Nikolai Malomuzh.
