Lukashenko: The West has finally rejected Tikhanovskaya
The West has found a replacement for the self-proclaimed “leader of the Belarusian nation” Svetlana Tikhanovskaya.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced this today at a meeting on personnel issues, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Now, through certain structures (I won’t name them), they are beginning to carefully reformat the opposition wing in Belarus. They are looking for someone to bet on. They found someone who would be tolerant for Russia, as they argue, and controlled by the West. Everything in the West is written. In short, this is the western direction. But the whole point is that they want to rely on fugitives,” Lukashenko said.
He believes that they will try to introduce Tikhanovskaya’s successor into the Belarusian government.
“Any opposition from among the fugitives is categorically unacceptable. If you run away, just sit there. You managed to return and somehow integrate into society, not into power. Their main goal now is to push their own people into power. I won’t say that we have already cleared everyone out. You still have to take a closer look at these people. We took a certain friend-or-foe angle. This is more important for Brest and Minsk.
In other regions, people are strong. And if there is a mouse, then you see them. But many of the authorities who fled are now throwing fake news at the country from abroad, who hid under the plinth. They understand that a wave is needed to infiltrate us. Everything is correct - this is what any intelligence services would do. Be careful in selecting people,” Lukashenko warned.
