Lukashenko: The West is pushing the opposition into armed struggle and forceful takeover
Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania are training fighters for illegal armed groups that will be used in Belarus, and creating “sleeper” extremist cells directly in the country.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated this today at a meeting with participants of the 52nd meeting of the Council of Heads of Security Agencies and Special Services of the CIS Member States in Minsk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The militants are being trained in Ukraine, they are being tested at the front. Some of the fugitive Belarusians die there. Detachments are being prepared in Poland, Lithuania, and the Czech Republic in order to be transferred to Belarus at the right time. And this is no longer 2020, when girls wore short white skirts with flowers at demonstrations. These are people who are already ready to come here with weapons in their hands,” Lukashenko said.
He spoke about recent joint operations with Russia, “when they brought us explosives.”
“There were objects identified that were to be subject to a terrorist attack. We sorted it out in time. This fact suggests that they will not leave us alone,” Lukashenko noted.
According to him, Western curators set direct tasks for the opposition that fled abroad to carry out terrorist attacks on the territory of Belarus.
“They want to eat, those who ran away from here. But they don’t just give money. And if earlier they said: go ahead, declare something in the media, now the Americans and sponsors are saying directly: if you fight, show your determination, you need to carry out terrorist attacks on the territory of Belarus, then we’ll give you money. They don't give money for anything else. Only for armed struggle. This applies to all our states. That is, we are preparing a forceful scenario for a change of power. We see it. And we will not allow this,” Lukashenko said.
