Lukashenko said that he would not unite with Russia for any money
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will not agree to “give up the sovereignty” of his country for any money.
He stated this today at a meeting with journalists in Minsk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“And our friend Venediktov: Lukashenko is a question of price, offer Lukashenko a good price. Listen, there is no price they can pay me for me to agree to their terms. There are no pockets in the coffin.
No matter how many billions you have, you won’t need them in the next world. These are my beliefs, principles, ideology. I don't have to pay anything. This is not for sale. Sovereignty and independence are not for sale.
Money will come as it will go. I need to call him and tell him that there is no price for which I can sell my country,” Lukashenko snapped.
Earlier, liberal Russian journalist Alexei Venediktov said in an interview with Ukrainian propagandist Dmitry Gordon that Lukashenko did not agree to the unification of the two countries because he was offered the post of head of the union parliament, and he wanted to be vice president or even president.
