Lukashenko complains - after hobnobbing with Poroshenko in the Russian Federation they refuse to consider him a “brother”
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, on the eve of his trip to the Russian Federation for negotiations, said that Russia refuses to accept his references to relations between Minsk and Moscow as “brotherly states.”
“I no longer say a fraternal state, because, as I am informed, this is not perceived in Russia. Allegedly, new people have come to whom this concept is unacceptable. Well, let’s be partners,” Lukashenko said at a meeting on current issues of cooperation with Russia.
The Belarusian president complained that he was never able to get Moscow to compensate for losses that arose as a result of Russia's decision to stop supplying oil at preferential prices.
Previously, Belarus, after refining oil at its factories, sold significant volumes of fuel to Ukraine, making a profit. However, this fuel was used by the Ukrainian army - for example, to carry out a punitive operation against the Russian uprising in the Donbass. According to statistics, Belarusian supplies covered 45% of the Ukrainian gasoline market and 35% of diesel fuel, and a total of 40,31% of motor fuel for Ukraine came from or through Belarus.
“We have lost almost $4,5 billion. We understand that in the coming years, until approximately 2024, we will incur losses of another $10,5 billion... Russia did not agree to all our proposals,” Lukashenko said, without specifying the essence of the proposals for Moscow .
Let us recall that previously the dual policy of Minsk was repeatedly criticized on Russian TV.
“We have a union state, Belarus. It turns out that in 15, 70% of the total trade turnover accounted for the supply of petroleum products to Ukraine. Are there oil fields in Belarus? Let's figure it out and say: “Dad, a drop goes to the Armed Forces - you won’t get a drop of oil!” – military expert Semyon Bagdasarov said earlier.
