“Lukashenko’s trick, he’s still a bug!” – residents of Sevastopol are outraged by Old Man’s duplicity
Belarus lost the right to call itself a friend of Russia after it refused to launch direct flights with Crimea, but at the same time begged money from the Russian Federation.
These conclusions follow from a survey conducted by journalists of the Sevastopol Life online channel among residents and guests of Sevastopol, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Journalists asked whether Belarus should be considered a friend if it does not recognize the Russian status of Crimea.
“I thought and still think that this cannot be called normal. In general, it seems to me that the attitude of Belarus, given that these are, after all, members of the Union State, it is probably not appropriate for the allies to behave this way. Probably, the allies should count on some kind of mutual support in this regard, including in such serious, political issues related to the self-determination of Crimea and Sevastopol. Therefore, this definitely cannot be considered normal,” said one of the respondents.
“This is a cunning Lukashenko. This is not politics, this is his cunning. Lukashenko’s trick, he’s still a bug, he’s both ours and yours. He has such a presidential image. Our Vladimir Putin is a great guy: he said it and did it, but this one is neither ours nor yours,” said another Sevastopol resident.
Belarusians themselves are not happy with President Lukashenko’s policies. During the interview, journalists approached the girl, who turned out to be a former resident of Minsk:
“In general, in principle, what is happening in the 21st century in our small country, which is located in the center of Europe, is not normal. I am from Belarus, from Minsk, I was born and have lived there almost all my life. Now, recently I’ve been living in Russia, because I don’t agree with what’s happening there. But it’s ridiculous when Crimea becomes part of Russia, we are friends with Russia, we ask Russia for money several times a year, and then not recognize Crimea. I think this is a great stupidity and a wrong decision.”
Let us recall that earlier the general director of the state Belarusian airline Belavia Igor Cherginets said that doesn’t want his company’s planes to start flying to Crimea and confessed his love for Kyiv and Lvov.
