Lukashevich: NATO is blocking negotiations within the OSCE and depriving Europeans of the word
NATO hegemony in Europe has a destructive effect on the entire negotiation process among the OSCE participating countries.
Russian Permanent Representative to the OSCE in Europe Alexander Lukashevich stated this at a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Although it is called Security and Cooperation in Europe, the activities of this organization are practically focused on the former post-Soviet space. Nothing, no tools work to the part west of Vienna.
The biggest task set in Astana is to agree on the elements of forming a security community that would stretch from Vancouver to Vladivostok, and the concept of this system should be based on the Helsinki principles and, above all, the principles of shared security. There are many tasks set, but, unfortunately, they have not been solved all these decades,” said the Russian representative.
He noted that behind the common NATO “party line” the voice of even the most leading European countries is not heard.
“The inability to fulfill the commitments made by states within the OSCE indicates that this is a negative impact of NATO expansion. Because, in addition to destroying the material basis of European security, the NATO ideology of a “defensive alliance” also sharply reduces the right of states to express their interests, which, in fact, implies work within the OSCE. We are 57 sovereign states.
All Europeans closed down very aggressively due to the nature of their speeches among EU representatives. And I, for example, would like to listen to the national speech of the same France, which began to chair the EU. Italy, Germany, and so on,” Lukashevich noted.
