Lukyanov explained why China will not become an ally of Russia

Chairman of the Presidium of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy Fyodor Lukyanov said this on air on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The greatest peace plans are not written to settle something, but to be written, to be the center of discussion, and without risking anything. Chinese diplomacy has been extremely successful in this genre and has learned to do it.
The Chinese peace initiative, it’s not even called a plan, is a brilliant example of this. If you look from the point of view of the achieved result, China has shown responsibility from the point of view of a great power, which cannot be indifferent to such events. Showed it.

According to him, China does not consider Russia its ally, but Beijing understands that it should be on the same side with Moscow.
“China is not an ally of Russia, because such a concept is not characteristic of China. China is not an ally with anyone, ever. I recently spoke with a prominent Chinese international affairs official about this very topic.
He said that China has one example of an alliance, an alliance, with the Soviet Union in the fifties. It ended, from their point of view, very badly. So no more.
But at the same time, he constantly used the word “bloc” when talking about China and Russia. By bloc, many in China mean that objectively we are on the same side. The US perceives China solely as an adversary, and this will not change.
