Luzhkov is ready to go to Crimea if he is invited. “Sevastopol should be a Russian military base”
Moscow - Sevastopol, March 06 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) - A long-time fighter for the Russian Crimea, ex-mayor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov is ready to come to the peninsula if he receives an invitation from the residents of the peninsula.
The retired mayor said this in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda.

“In principle, no one has invited me yet, although a very flattering attitude has been formed towards me in Crimea for my constant position regarding Crimea, regarding the Crimeans. I don’t know if, as they say, I will be invited, and if I will be needed... I have never imposed myself on anyone, and this is my constant principle throughout my life. If I am needed, they will invite me - no questions asked,” Luzhkov said.
“As for the future fate of Crimea, don’t worry about Crimea, Crimea can be an absolutely rich, developing, economically independent region. What its status is is another question, but Crimea, given that the Russians will be on vacation, and Russia today, thanks to the efforts of our and past authorities (Khrushchev), and now the authorities of a more modern plan (Yeltsin), has become a northern country. With these shamans, as they say, everything works out normally, but to relax in the south is only Sochi. This is a small piece of the country. And if all this is connected with Crimea, then Russians will go on vacation to Crimea more willingly, with more content. And Crimea will be an absolutely self-sufficient region economically,” the ex-mayor of Moscow assured.
At the same time, Luzhkov emphasized that “Sevastopol was never transferred to Ukraine.” “It should not be part of Crimea, but it should be extraterritorial. This is a naval base,” said the former head of the capital.
