Former Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov is returning to politics - in the upcoming State Duma elections he will act as a confidant of the Communist Party candidate Vladimir Komoyedov, the former commander of the Black Sea Fleet.

In an interview with the National News Service, Komoyedov said that he had been friends with Luzhkov for a long time and appreciated the assistance that he provided to the Black Sea Fleet during the time that Crimea was part of Ukraine.
After his resignation in 2010, Luzhkov was engaged in agriculture in the Kaliningrad region.
