Lviv nationalists hounded a Russian-speaking postal worker
Russian-speaking Lviv postal worker Irina, after numerous attacks from activists, decided to quit and move to another city.
This is stated in the story of the local NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to television crews, the reason for the harassment was her “pro-Russian” statement about the oppression of Russian-speaking people in Ukraine.
“Russia says everywhere in Europe that Russian speakers are oppressed. Poroshenko said that no one oppresses, but he oppresses,” the postal worker said in Ukrainian.
Activists came to Irina’s work for about a month and harassed her on social networks. At the moment, she continues to work, but promises to move to Odessa in the near future.
“There is no pressure on me from the leadership, but there is pressure from activists,” she commented, also in Ukrainian.
Irina’s move was also commented on by the director of the Lviv directorate of Ukrposhta, Nikolai Rostov.
“Due to family circumstances, a person changes his place of residence. And the conflict, I think, is over. Activists know this and have no complaints,” he added.
However, the nationalists promised to follow up on Irina’s dismissal, and then start looking for victims for the next attacks. Thus, activist Nikolai Galashchuk justified this with the danger of “revenge” and the arrival of the Russian World.
“Where there was no Ukrainian language, there was Russian, there were Soviet monuments, there today we have war and threats of separatism. And if we don’t cut it down from the roots even here in Lvov, then it is possible that similar sentiments will also exist here,” the nationalist fears.
