According to Lviv residents, undesirable persons in Ukraine and the Lviv region, in particular, are Russian chess players Anatoly Karpov, Alisa Galyamova and Sergey Karyakin.
This is stated in the official statement of the local chess federation.
“The robbery of Crimea by modern vandals has caused justified indignation throughout the world. Outstanding chess players Garry Kasparov and Vladimir Kramnik did not stand aside, they expressed their indignation along with all civilized people,” the federation did not forget to remind.
“At the same time, some outstanding chess players found themselves in the chauvinistic captivity of Russian propaganda, including the 12th world champion Anatoly Karpov, Alisa Galyamova and the former citizen of Ukraine, grandmaster Sergei Karyakin, who even defiantly stated that his homeland emigrated to Russia due to his example,” said the Lviv chess players.
In their opinion, “all contacts with Russian chess players who support the annexation of Crimea must be stopped.”
Let us remind you that Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Anatoly Karpov visited Crimea on March 12. Commenting on the events in Ukraine, he stated that “in chess terminology, there was a wrong start. And now it is unclear how the party will develop. Unfortunately, its economic situation now looks vague. Crimeans, if they make a choice in favor of Russia, will receive stability and social guarantees: large pensions, higher salaries. And, importantly, fuel prices will be lower.”
