Lviv media: the city is drowning in garbage, landfills are overflowing, the situation is critical and getting worse every day
The Lviv City Council made an official statement that the situation with garbage collection in the city is difficult. The cities of Dneprpetrovsk and Nikolaev do not accept Lviv garbage. All landfills in the Lviv region and beyond are blocked, with the exception of two that are currently accepting garbage.

“The operational headquarters, which was created in the Lviv City Council, is still silent. What will happen next to Lviv garbage? Different districts of Lviv (most of all Sykhivskyi, Frankivskyi, Shevchenkivskyi) are buried in garbage. They stopped collecting garbage there since last week,” the publication says.

As the publication notes, users on social networks daily publish photos with heaps of garbage scattered under Lviv buildings and sound the alarm that the situation is becoming catastrophic.
Chairman of the Sikhiv Regional State Administration, Deputy Chairman of the Lviv City Commission on Technogenic-Environmental Safety and Emergency Situations Irina Marunyak said that they are now holding negotiations with the mayors of Lviv cities in order to resume accepting waste into landfills.
