Lviv City Council published educational videos with a map of Ukraine without Crimea
One of the official YouTube channels of the Lviv City Council published four educational videos with a map of Ukraine without Crimea.
This was reported in the local news agency Zaxid.net, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The videos were produced by the public organization “Parents in Action” - as a short course for high school students about the work of the mayor’s office, deputies and officials in Lviv. They were published on December 21, but almost immediately a scandal broke out - the absence of Crimea on the map of Ukraine was noticed by Lvov political observer Dmitry Posypanko.
After its indignant publication, all videos were deleted from both the city council channel and the Parents in Action channel.
Chairman of the NGO “Parents in Action”, ex-deputy of the Lviv City Council Yulia Gvozdovich explained that the video is now being remade and apologized for the “mistake.”
“The project was carried out by parents on a volunteer basis, at night, wishing only the best for the children of the city, so that they would be socially conscious. Without any malicious intentions - all three missed it... We apologize for such a typo. Crimea is Ukraine!” - Gvozdovich conjured.
The partnership department of the Lviv City Council also responded to this incident, explaining that after the “error” is corrected, all the videos will be published again.
