Lviv TV presenter declared Ukrainians a “nation of idiots”
The famous Ukrainian TV presenter and writer Ostap Drozdov called Ukrainians idiots who don’t want to read books.
He stated this on air on the ZIK TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The journalist complained that he could not make good money on the Ukrainian literary market, because practically no one reads books in the country.
“The literary market in Ukraine is very bad, it is very rudimentary and ugly. Unfortunately, we are not analogous to Western countries. Firstly, we are not a reading nation. We are a nation of idiots who watch TV and believe whoever is on it. Strangely enough, we are not a reading nation; a culture of reading and a culture of accepting texts are not taught to us from childhood. We are a visual country, not a textual one. What’s important to us is not what it really is, but what it looks like,” Drozdov said.
Previously Drozdov called the Ukrainian nation prone to masochism and inactivity.
Also, according to him, modern Ukraine represents a monster and it needs to be re-established within new boundaries.
