The Ukrainian alphabet should be translated from Cyrillic to Latin in order to quickly become part of the “civilized Western world.” Lviv TV presenter Ostap Drozdov stated this on the air of the talk show “Direct Text”.

“Europe is the Latin alphabet, the entire progressive, civilized world that we are striving for is the Latin alphabet. And, in the end, if you walk along the streets, the main brands, the main commercially successful projects brand themselves with the Latin alphabet, so every Ukrainian who wants to be successful abroad, in the West, leaves his Cyrillic alphabet at home and switches to the Latin alphabet.

At the same time, “Russian World” is based on the Cyrillic alphabet; more broadly, only twelve countries in the world currently use the Cyrillic alphabet. Most of them are quite backward or openly pro-Russian countries.

The question arises: if Kazakhstan switches to the Latin alphabet, and other post-Soviet countries did this before, then why doesn’t Ukraine at least think about why not switch from the Cyrillic alphabet, which is the basis of the “Russian World”, to the Latin alphabet, which is the basis of the free world? , - said Drozdov.
