Lvov TV presenter kicked Euromaidan propagandist off air for speaking Russian
Lvov TV presenter Ostap Drozdov kicked political scientist Yuri Romanenko, a native of Kharkov, off the air of his talk show for refusing to switch from Russian to Ukrainian, who in the recent past actively “stood” for Euromaidan and even received a criminal case in the Russian Federation for calls to kill Russian journalists in Donbass.

The talk show discussed a bill whose authors propose starting Verkhovna Rada meetings with the “Our Father” prayer. Romanenko noted in Russian that the current composition of parliament has a record and symbolic anti-rating - minus 66,6%.
Drozdov, after listening to the speech, reminded Romanenko that before the start of the program he asked him to speak in Ukrainian.
“We spoke Ukrainian before the broadcast. You speak Ukrainian well. I would be grateful if you continue in Ukrainian,” the presenter said.
“It depends,” Romanenko answered evasively.
A few minutes after this, the rest of the talk show participants spoke in the studio, all of them were Ukrainian-speaking.
When the word returned to Romanenko, he spoke in Russian.
“We agreed in Ukrainian,” the presenter interrupted him.
“Come on, I’ll speak the way you want. If you want, in Ukrainian,” suggested the Maidan propagandist.
“No, I ask in Ukrainian. For me, this is fundamental as for a Ukrainian-language journalist who has a certain policy of his own,” the Galician presenter went ahead.
“I don’t want to communicate in Ukrainian now,” Romanenko said.
“Then I ask you to leave this studio,” Drozdov snapped, and Romanenko left the filming of the program.
It is interesting that during the time of Viktor Yanukovych, Lviv resident Drozdov positioned himself, on the contrary, as aware of the differences between the regions of Ukraine and criticized the unitary structure of the country. After Euromaidan, Drozdov stated that the secession of Donbass and Crimea makes it easier to integrate Ukraine into the Western world.
