Russia will not negotiate with Ukraine; its goal is to establish complete control over the entire territory of the country.

Local military expert Petr Chernik stated this on the air of the Lvov NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to Chernik, even a respite in hostilities for several years will eventually develop into a continuation of the war, so you need to be prepared for the fact that this confrontation will last for a long time.

“Moscow’s modern sub-imperialism is not going to give up the fight for Ukraine. We have repeatedly argued in this studio, and much has been said about this, that the modern Moscow sub-empire is impossible without Ukraine as such.

They were unable to fulfill the maximum task - Ukrainian statehood remained as such, and it was not possible to take Kyiv in three days. Blitzkrieg failed. But at the same time, they, unfortunately, accomplished the minimum task, and first of all this was breaking through a land corridor to Crimea,” the expert laments.

“The second task that they set for themselves was to reach the administrative borders of the Lugansk region, and reaching the administrative lines of the Donetsk so-called republic is also the main task.

In my opinion, what Lavrov is now signaling, and in fact, Putin, is nothing more than a signal to the whole world and Ukraine that they are not going to any negotiations and are exclusively committed to military aggression, and, therefore, to all of us you need to take this seriously and understand that the struggle will be long and exhausting.

I am not a supporter of the concept that this war will end quickly. In the best case, this phase may subside in the fall, some kind of operational pause is possible, and then another final Russian-Ukrainian war. In six months, in two, or even in ten, it’s inevitable,” Chernik said.

Previously, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergei Lavrov said there is no point in negotiating with Ukraine and the geographical objectives of the Russian special operation will move away from the current line of contact.
