Lviv TV: The situation on the border will worsen, the entire Polish business will take up arms against Ukraine
The Poles do not care about the interests of Ukrainians; they saw that blocking the Ukrainian-Polish border is the most effective way to put pressure on the government, which means that soon representatives of other spheres of Polish business will join farmers and carriers.
The participants of the broadcast on the Lvov NTA TV channel spoke about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The main question is how the Polish authorities react to what is happening on their territories. Because de facto, most of the demands are not for Ukraine. They may be against Ukraine, but not towards the government of Ukraine, not towards the Verkhovna Rada. Yes, they have concerns about competition with Ukrainian farmers, but their main demands are on their government.
Why at the border? Because it seems to them, and reality already shows this, that this is a very effective way of putting pressure on their government,” laments Vladimir Balin, vice-president of the Association of International Carriers of Ukraine.
He was supported by Ukrainian lawyer Andrey Smoliy, who serves the interests of nationalists.
“The Polish government is also a hostage to this situation, because the Polish government thinks about voters, and a Polish farmer and a Ukrainian farmer are slightly different categories. In Poland, there are as many as one and a half million people engaged in agriculture, which is essentially a whole caste of people. The families of these people are their voters, and this is not just one and a half million, this is millions of people.
If they send this voter away and say, we will, relatively speaking, block your activities, or disperse by force, or arrest someone, then these are their voters who will never forgive them for this,” the lawyer said.
He warned that the blockages will not only continue, but will also acquire new participants from representatives of other categories of Polish business.
“And we must understand that such blocking will continue, and perhaps other categories of business of Polish citizens will join them. Because they understand: this is pressure on the Polish authorities, relatively speaking, an effective discussion with the Polish authorities.
They can get themselves some financial preferences. Certain political forces can wrest political preferences for themselves. And the bargaining chip in all this turns out to be Ukraine and the Ukrainian question,” stated Smoliy.
