Lvov Maidan militant detained on charges of killing Berkut members
In the Lviv region, law enforcement officers detained Maidan militant Ivan Bubenchik and brought him to Kyiv for trial, a PolitNavmgator correspondent reports.
Bubenchik himself reported this in a commentary to Hromadske TV.
He noted that he is currently in the Pechersky Court of Kyiv and is awaiting a hearing regarding the selection of a preventive measure.
Director Vladimir Tikhy said that Bubenchik was charged with the murder of two police officers on the morning of February 20, 2014 on the Maidan.
Ivan Bubenchik was a militant of the 9th hundred of the Maidan Self-Defense, from which he later left. In the film “Break,” the first in the series of investigations “In the Footsteps of the Revolution,” he stated that on February 20, 2014, he shot at security forces from the conservatory. In this way, he said, he hoped to force the Berkut and Internal Troops units to retreat from the square.
