Lviv vodka of Poroshenko’s ally was caught having ties with the “aggressor”
Businessmen doing business in Crimea entered into a deal to work together on the Ukrainian vodka market with the Lviv Hetman plant, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is stated in the publication of the Kyiv edition of Capital.
The publication lists the names of the businessmen in question. These are Neil Smith, Jonathan Whale and James Hart.
“The first two have offshore companies in Cyprus, and the third is a lawyer who accompanies the transactions of their partners. All of them conduct active business activities in the Russian Federation and occupied Crimea. Neil Smith owns a business in Russia producing and selling bottled drinking water and non-alcoholic drinks. The companies clearly trace the footprint of his partner Jonathan Vale. For example, the latter in Tula owned shares in the companies WATERHOUSE (production of soft drinks; production of mineral waters and other bottled drinking waters) and P.K. WATERHOUSE,” the publication says.
According to the Ukrainian publication, Neil Smith's offshore company Eastern Beverage Company Limited (Cyprus) transferred the license rights to a number of Ukrainian vodka brands to the Zaforpo Ventures offshore controlled by Jonathan Vale. Thus, the Lvov plant, through an offshore scheme, became a representative of the interests of the Russian vodka business in Ukraine.
According to Ukrainian media, the Hetman plant belongs to Oleg Balyash. He is the head of the Lviv city organization of the Our Land party, which is supervised by the deputy head of the administration of Petro Poroshenko, Vitaly Kovalchuk.
