Thus, the 6th Tank Regiment received the honorary name “Guards Lvov”, the 68th became the “Guards Zhytomyr-Berlin”, the 163rd became the “Guards Nezhinsky”.

These names were adopted “in order to preserve glorious military historical traditions, educate military personnel in the spirit of devotion to the Fatherland and loyalty to military duty.”

In turn, the official representative of the LPR in the political group at the negotiations in Minsk, Rodion Miroshnik, made an unexpected proposal for residents of Lvov.

“From now on, the 6th Tank Guards Regiment of the Russian Army will bear the name “Lvov Guards.” Lviv residents can choose in advance the combat vehicles that they will greet with flowers,” Miroshnik wrote on his blog.
