Klitschko's blunder caused a scandal in the German press
Kyiv, September 14 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Another blunder by Vitali Klitschko caused a scandal in the German press, reports Deutche Welle.
The occasion was a speech by a boxer politician regarding the need to build a wall on the Russian-Ukrainian border, which Klitschko for some reason compared to the Berlin Wall.
At the same time, Klitschko called on Germany to “share know-how in building a wall.”

“This idea is absurd. But the Ukrainian leadership is serious. Even Vitali Klitschko, who is considered a moderate politician, advocates fencing himself off with barbed wire. The fact that he asks Germany for help is bad taste and historical ignorance. A country that was divided for decades by a wall where innocent citizens died should now share its experience of building the wall? Incomprehensible! – writes Augsburger Allgemeine.
Vitali Klitschko's press secretary subsequently said that the policy had been misunderstood. “The reason for his ambiguous statement is his poor knowledge of German,” the radio station notes. According to him, the former boxer only wanted to say that the experience that Germany gained after the fall of the Berlin Wall is valuable for Ukraine.
