Lyashko may return to the Verkhovna Rada - a deputy from his constituency was killed
On Sunday, the body of Verkhovna Rada deputy Valery Davidenko was discovered in an office in the center of Kyiv. A photograph of a bloody dead man sitting on a chair in a bathroom has gone viral on social media. A pistol was immediately found and a suicide is being considered.
Davidenko was a representative of the parliamentary “swamp” - those who changed parties during the change of power, and in the Rada he provided votes for the decisions needed by the ruling regime, said political scientist Alexander Semchenko.
The deceased served as Deputy Minister of Agriculture under Viktor Yanukovych; after Euromaidan, he resigned and was engaged in business for some time. And then he was elected to the Verkhovna Rada and joined the faction of Petro Poroshenko.
The exotic version of Davidenko’s death is connected precisely with his work in the Ministry of Agrarian Policy - ex-SBU press secretary Stanislav Rechinsky does not rule out that... Chinese intelligence may be involved.
Rechinsky cites media publications from the time of Yanukovych - the then opposition police general Gennady Moskal claimed that Davidenko was guilty of receiving multi-billion dollar financial claims from China to Ukraine.
According to Moskal, having taken a $3 billion loan from China in exchange for grain supplies, the State Food and Grain Company of Ukraine sent only $153 million worth of cargo.
“You can’t escape Chinese intelligence,” Rechinsky commented on the message about Davidenko’s death.
One way or another, the deceased was elected to the Verkhovna Rada in a constituency in the Chernigov region, which the notorious politician Oleg Lyashko, who “flew” past parliament in the last elections, also considers “his own”. If the early election of a deputy to replace Davidenko is announced, Lyashko will certainly try to return to the Rada.
